Maya camera lens distortion3/9/2024 I humbly ask for any info anyone may have on this topic, thank you. It’s likely I’m missing something obvious here, I’m still transitioning from Maya (which just has an ‘overscan’ attribute on the camera node). I can distort the CG to match, but the edges of the render get pulled into frame so I cant work to full resolution. This person got told to move the camera back which isnt the same as overscan.Īny other people familiar with VFX undistort/redistort workflow know what I’m talking about? 3DModeling 3DAnimationIn this tutorial video in Maya 2018 we are going to take a closer look at how to setup your scene. Moving the camera back, changing focal length arent the same as overscan. Which increases how much CG you see, sure, but wrecks any tracking alignment youve done. We will be looking at film gates, resolution, cameras, lenses, F stops and much much more.more. Adobe Camera RAW has a similar option before opening a RAW photo inside Photoshop. Dealing with lens distortion has traditionally been a compositing or matchmoving task. In Adobe Lightroom, the option is a simple checkbox under the Lens Corrections panel that says Enable Profile Corrections. Then from the list that appears, select RedshiftLensDistortion Once the Lens Distortion lens shader is created, all you have to do is set the distortion image (UV Map) and render. Which means you need to render outside the bounds of the default render region while keeping everything inside the render region the same.īut this just adds a new camera and pulls it back in depth. By default, cameras created in Maya have their 'sensor size' (referred to as Camera Aperture in Maya) set to 1.417 inches x 0. By using data about the lens itself, stored in the photo’s metadata, photo editors can reverse the distortion. On the camera's Redshift properties, click the checkerboard icon next to 'Lens Shaders'. Ive tried to lower values from my focal length and lens distortion, it does affect the projection but i cant make it fit to the geometry. You gotta add barrel distortion to your CG elements to match your original footage. How do I complete the “render” step in this chart? See how the CG overlaps the edges of frame in the render but that region is required after redistortion? In this class we will learn how to remove lens distortion from any footage.and also how to export undistorted footage from pftrack.and how to import in maya. Overscan rendering for redistortion is a key part of visual effects production.
